Our trip started first with a 4 hour flight to JFK and an overnight stay with my Aunty Velma who is a sister in one of the Queens congregations. We appreciate so much her kindness and hospitality! We left JFK Monday morning and after a 10 hr flight to Tel Aviv and a mad dash through the airport to catch our connecting flight, we finally arrived at the Athens International airport 2 hours later.
We met about 35-40 other Witnesses at various airports who were also on their way to the Athens International Convention.

| I met this dear sister from Texas at the JFK airport. We helped her figure out how to take pictures on her iPhone :) |

After very long travels, it was heart-warming to be welcomed at the airport by our Greek brothers and sisters and even to see a welcome message on the airport monitors!
 |
| Sorry for the blurry picture, but we had to keep on the MOVE through the airport and to the bus! |
We had a picturesque ride on the bus through Athens and noticed that we were in fertile land. We saw olive trees everywhere and citrus fruit trees alongside the sidewalks. About 30 minutes later, we arrived at the Hilton Athens.
 |
| Upon arriving at the Hilton hotel, we noticed there was a designated information desk specifically setup for the Witnesses attending the convention. This is where we picked up our welcome packets which included a welcome letter from the Greek brothers, a guidebook for all the tours, as well as our lunch tickets. |
Later that evening, we had dinner at the Byzantine restaurant and then settled in to get ready for our early morning tour to Ancient Corinth.
